Also man sollte ihn nicht wirklich nebenbei auf dem Küchentisch beim Kartoffel schälen benutzen. Ich kaufte den Auftragnehmer 12-Volt Nextec Multi-Tool zwei vor einigen Wochen zu analysieren heraus und Auswertung.

    Christina Hensch: Ist der gesunde Menschenverstand, dass. Beim einspannen hatte ich doch meine Bedenken dass ich etwas kaputt mache. Ich habe ihn in meinen Schraubstock gespannt um 2 Meter Dachlatten zu schleifen. Wer aber meint er hätte hier einen Schleifer mit integriertem Staubsauger irrt. Somit ein günstiger, individueller und schnell hergestellter Blumenkasten. Ich bin mit dem Gerät sehr zufrieden: - 250W Leistung sind meiner Meinung nach absolut ausreichend für den geneigten Hobby-Handwerker. Die Bodenplatte kann verdammt flott ihre Haftung verlieren. Wie kommt es zu der Abnutzu.

All those things I felt I “had to do” to make something went out the window, because here is someone who didn’t do any of that, and made some of the most powerful images I’ve ever seen. Still to this day I will watch one of his films and there will always be that moment where I start to feel for the characters without ever realizing I was invested at all in the story. He made characters that you never observed or followed, he made characters you lived with. The lack of story or plot always makes his films appear simple, but in fact they are some of the most complex I know of by how painstakingly they show every aspect of someone’s day. I think it can be easier to write a story arc that only contains action and leave out all the little things that makes up one’s life. The more and more I try to make smaller, more personal projects I start to see how difficult they can be. You really have to have that type of mind, that view on life to make it work. Ozu always viewed everything in perspective of the greater whole. The drama of something bad happening was always dampened by the knowledge of another day has to be lived. There was always a beginning and an end, and both were constantly in motion. There’s really nothing more fitting to his work that the man was born and died on December 12th after making over 50 films in only 60 years. I was going to do a screening of his work tonight, but sadly I just have too much work to get done. There are plenty of his films online if you look though, and I encourage you all to check them out.

    At CodeConf, I gave a quick lightning talk about one of the products of our recent Hackathon.

    It turns out, naming things is really hard (one of the two hard things in computer science). When we went to name our project, pressed for time, we went for the most topical thing we could think of at the time. Thus, charlie_sheen_service was released to production at about 1 am.

    charlie_sheen_service has one endpoint, blather that is a live feed of orders with some MSA data.

    The service is polled by it’s one client, Warlock. Warlock is a map that displays the orders as the come in real-time. A marker shows where orders are coming from on the map, and as more come in the radius of the marker expands. As the average price of that MSA increase, the color of the marker changes. Images of the products are spewed forth from the map as they come in. The whole thing is winning.

    Warlock is built in CoffeeScript and a great JS library called Polymaps.

    It’s often displayed on a large monitor in our office.
